These emblems are professionally re-worked / painted matt black.
Product attributes:

All emblems are elaborately processed using several special procedures.
The chrome surface is roughened to maintain paint resistance and smoothed ready for painting. Subsequently, the surface is primed and painted several times with high-quality "matt black" paint.
We only supply you with goods of the highest quality.
Installation:
Heat the "old" chrome-plated VW California emblem (if present) e.g. with a hairdryer (so that the adhesive becomes "soft").
Peel it off.
Clean the areas of adhesive residue.
Peel off the protective film / backing film (original) from the supplied lettering.
Now stick on the lettering - DONE!
